Assist in the installation of storm drainage, sewer, water lines, and other underground utilities. Work closely with equipment operators and follow verbal and written instructions. The role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 100 pounds. Laborers must have good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work safely around heavy machinery and traffic. Repetitive motions and the use of hand tools are common. Visual acuity and hearing are essential for communication and hazard awareness. The work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. We are looking for an experienced Asphalt Milling Machine Operator with a valid CDL to join our heavy highway civil construction team in Houston, Texas. This position is responsible for operating milling machines to remove asphalt pavement prior to resurfacing. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of machine setup, milling depths, grades, and be capable of safely operating and transporting the equipment.
Job Duties Include: Operate asphalt milling machines to remove existing pavement surfaces to specified depths and grades. Coordinate with ground personnel to ensure milling accuracy and job safety. Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections, daily maintenance and repairs. Safely load, transport, and unload milling equipment using CDL-class vehicles. Adjust controls to regulate speed, depth, and alignment based on specifications. Monitor milling progress to ensure surface quality and correct deficiencies. Adhere to safety protocols and job site regulations at all times. Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly rate of pay is $22 - $30+ depending on experience.

Job Duties Include: Operate asphalt paving machines to place hot mix asphalt according to line, grade, and slope. Set up and monitor screed operations for proper depth, width, and crown of mat. Coordinate with truck drivers and crew members to ensure continuous paving operations. Make screed adjustments on the fly to correct mat imperfections and maintain a smooth surface. Inspect equipment daily and perform basic maintenance tasks as needed. Maintain communication with the paving foreman and crew for seamless operation.
