We are seeking hardworking, reliable, and safety-conscious Laborers to join our heavy highway civil construction team in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate will assist in various phases of highway, roadway, and bridge construction, working outdoors in all weather conditions and supporting skilled tradesmen and equipment operators to complete high-quality infrastructure projects.
Job Duties Include:
- Assist with site preparation, excavation, grading, and clean-up.
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials and tools.
- Use hand and power tools such as shovels, rakes, compactors, and jackhammers.
- Set up and take down traffic control devices and temporary construction barriers.
- Assist in the installation of storm drainage, sewer, water lines, and other underground utilities.
- Work closely with equipment operators and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, following company and OSHA safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by lead-man, foreman or supervisor.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Hourly rate of pay is $16 - $20 depending on experience.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in civil or highway construction is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods (lifting up to 100 lbs, bending, kneeling, standing).
- Willingness to work in variable outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Skills:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Experience with concrete work, form setting, or asphalt paving.
- Familiarity with trench safety, traffic control, and utility installation.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- This position requires strenuous physical labor on active construction sites. Laborers must frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, and reach during the workday. Tasks include shoveling, raking, compacting, loading, unloading, and moving materials and tools. The role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- Laborers must have good hand-eye coordination and the ability to work safely around heavy machinery and traffic. Repetitive motions and the use of hand tools are common. Visual acuity and hearing are essential for communication and hazard awareness.
- The work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and wind. Job sites may include loud noise, dust, uneven terrain, and exposure to fumes and vibrations. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and high-visibility vests must be worn at all times.
