The Materials Manager will oversee material inquiries, procurement coordination, expediting, and scheduling while working closely with buyers, project managers, and vendors to meet project deadlines. Key Responsibilities: 1. Drawing Interpretation & Material Identification: Review fabrication drawings and determine the required materials, insulation, internals, and coatings. Work with engineering and project teams to clarify material specifications and resolve discrepancies. Ensure materials align with ASME code requirements, client specifications, and fabrication processes. Verify that bills of materials (BOMs) are accurate and reflect actual project needs.
2. Procurement & Material Planning: Establish Order-By Dates to ensure materials are procured on schedule. Initiate and manage material inquiries and send them to the Buyer for processing. Ensure that all required materials (including internals, insulation, L&P’s, vessel/tanks, and other sub-services) are secured before the fabrication start date. Ensure material deliveries align with the Start of Fabrication (S.O.F.) date. Adjust schedules based on fabrication delays, vendor delays, or changes in project scope.
5. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure material traceability and maintain proper documentation for ASME compliance. Verify Mill Test Reports (MTRs), heat numbers, and other material certifications. Work with QA/QC teams to confirm material integrity and adherence to project requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchases, deliveries, and supplier communications.

Qualifications: Associates or Bachelors degree in a math related field of study OR 3-5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain in a fabrication, welding, or manufacturing environment.
