Weyerhaeuser's engineered lumber facility in Buckhannon, WV has the opportunity for skilled Industrial Mechanics with a thorough comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment, processes, and techniques to safely repair, modify, install, and maintain the facility and high-tech lumber manufacturing equipment, to join our Team.
NOTE: Starting pay is up to $30/hr
Key Functions:
Machinery lubrication & other preventative maintenance assignmentsTroubleshooting and repairing mechanically powered equipmentBearing, shaft, coupling, belt, sprocket, and chain drive system installations and alignmentTroubleshooting and repairing pneumatic and hydraulic systems with basic principles of cylinder repairMetal fabricationSome troubleshooting and exposure to industrial electricity and controls
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required: All Applicants must have a high school education or GED from an accredited institutionStable employment history with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in Industrial Mechanical workMust be willing and able to work rotating shifts, to include weekends and holidays as operating conditions requireMust be willing and able to perform the essential physical functions of the position such as but not limited to; the ability to climb stairs and ladders, navigate catwalks, lifting / pushing (50lbs), stooping, and bending, and use aerial work platforms, fork trucks and manlifts at all heights and locations in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work in elevated/low temperatures (heat and cold) throughout the plant for the assigned shiftMust be willing and able to fit test and wear a respirator, as requiredA personal and total commitment to observe all safety rules and regulationsBasic Computer knowledge and experience is requiredKnowledge of and Experience with: Metal fabrication, basic principles of cylinder repair, machinery lubrication, precision installation and alignment practices of bearings, couplings, belts, sprockets, and chain drive systemsAbility to repair and troubleshoot issues with mechanically powered equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic systemsAbility to perform a welding and precision alignment presentationGood working knowledge of basic industrial electricity issues and controlsAbility to pass a pre-employment examination, drug test and background checkThe following qualifications are preferred:Vocational or technical school certificate, Military training, and experience as they relatePast employment experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience with SAP or other Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)Experience in using precision alignment tools and practicesKnowledge of fire protection systemsAir compressor maintenance experienceAbility to comprehend blueprintsHighly motivated with the ability to learn and adaptAbout Wood ProductsWe've been delivering quality building products and solutions to our customers for more than 100 years.
