Apply Today!Job Summary and Qualifications*1.Performs required procedures in the department sections according to protocol.*2.Makes proper decisions utilizing job knowledge. Works in an independent manner.*3.Demonstrates proficiency in the designated sections through Proficiency, Patient, and Quality Control testing.*4.Prioritizes work to ensure completions within the assigned shift and within expected intervals, i.e., Stat, Routine, and Urgent.*5.Assists the leadership in the completion of miscellaneous duties.*6.Shares daily workload within the department including phlebotomy and processing.*7.Maintains good communication with coordinators, co-workers and customers. Respects patient confidentiality. Demonstrates an awareness of patient/client expectations and always seeks to satisfy.*8.Demonstrates proficiency in all laboratory computer related tasks.*9.Performs and documents instrument maintenance. Performs quality control according to established procedures. Troubleshoots instruments effectively when appropriate.*10.Understands and participates in laboratory QA/QC plan, safety policies, emergency preparedness plan and infection control plan.*11.Understands/respects laboratory billing compliance plan. Adheres to guidelines set forth in Lab Billing Compliance Plan. Participates in Annual Billing Compliance and Code of Conduct/ Ethics courses.*12.Initiates and documents patient teaching, including family and /or significant others.
