Summary: The Director of Analytics and Data Science will lead the Commercial Analytics function, driving best practices in analytics, data science, and data visualization across the organization. This role holds direct responsibility for all commercial analytics domains, including Marketing, Web, Contact Center, Revenue Management, and Onsite Revenue. You will lead the Analytics Team and the Center of Excellence (CoE), building and optimizing processes for both bespoke and self-service analytics, fostering collaboration, standardization, and innovation, empowering business units and enhancing data-driven decision-making across all lines of business.Responsibilities:Lead and manage direct reports within the commercial analytics team.Establish and manage individual development plans aligned with organizational goals to foster continuous growth and performanceCollaborate with IT on cloud data warehouse architecture, data management, and data engineering to build a scalable and reliable business intelligence ecosystem.Establish, document, and enforce data governance principles to ensure data quality and compliance.Stay abreast of new analytic methods and technologies, supporting the internal development and adoption of innovative capabilities.Oversee the end-to-end process management for developing and deploying new reporting and modeling capabilities. Coordinate closely with field and corporate stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery, maintain high-quality standards, and facilitate timely communication throughout project lifecycles.Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of self-service reporting and visualization tools that empower resort and corporate teams to perform independent, data-driven analysis.Design and implement custom dashboards using visualization tools to highlight and communicate critical KPIs and trends.Partner with stakeholders to craft clear, insightful, and actionable analytic reports that drive informed decision-making.Drive the evaluation, development, and integration of advanced statistical models, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies, including GenAI, to enhance predictive analytics and automate complex data processes. Champion the adoption of AI/ML solutions that deliver measurable business value and operational efficiencies.Present findings and recommendations to the relevant departments and teams, clearly communicating assumptions, data limitations, and guidance for future or continuing research.Lead testing efforts by overseeing test methodology and measurement.Review test outcomes and present fact-based recommendations to relevant stakeholders.Required Qualifications:8+ years of experience in analytics and Data Science, including at least three years of leadership experience, with experience presenting and communicating at the executive level.Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research or a related field. Master’s or Ph.D. preferred.Proficiency in one or more programming /scripting languages, including but not limited to Python and SQL.Strong knowledge of data management (including both structured and unstructured data), data warehousing, ELT processes and platforms (Matillion, dbt, Azure Data Factory), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Experience with Tableau and Tableau Cloud, as well as a thorough understanding of data visualization best practices.Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and applying statistical models, including predictive modeling, in an academic or professional setting.Familiarity with diverse qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including sampling techniques and experimental design.Ability to travel occasionally, up to 10%, to Great Wolf Lodges or Corporate Office. Ability to work from Great Wolf’s Corporate Headquarters located in Madison, WI. Current hybrid work schedule includes in-office T/W/Th and remote work M/F; schedule subject to change.Estimated Salary Range:$165,000 - $200,000 annual base salaryAn employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of Great Wolf’s total compensation package.
