This position requires effective communication skills for working with patients, families, and caregivers as well as departmental and interdepartmental relationships. This position requires competency in speech-language pathology evaluation, assessment, care planning and treatment. This position requires task delegation and supervision of technicians and assistants (when applicable) and maintains open and on-going communication with hospital departments to ensure patient, staff, and hospital needs are met. The Speech-Language Pathologist fellow creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment. QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTSLicense or Certification:- Must be in possession of current state license in Speech Language Pathology.- SLP Certificate of Clinical Competencies (CCC) is expected within the first 2 years of employment or as directed by ASHA.- BLS (CPR) required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire within this role.Minimum Qualifications:- Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred.Machines, Equipment Used:- Therapy equipment and general office equipment such as computer/laptop, telephone, copy/fax machine, calculator, scanner, etc.- Microsoft Office software, to include Outlook, Word, and Excel.Physical Requirements:- Visual acuity, speech recognition, speech clarity.- Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds including medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients.
