A Day in the Life of the Carrier Sales Manager:
Astound Broadband is currently searching for a Carrier Sales Manager. This position is responsible for targeting and solution selling telecom providers and strategic businesses that require high bandwidth, custom or complex infrastructure and connectivity solutions. This role requires business development, proactive follow-up, telecommunications experience and complex management skills to support long-term business opportunities andstrategic relationships.
Identifying appropriate partnerships that fit within the media vertical modelSolution selling to broadcasters, professional media companies, content distribution networks and large carriersTargeting and solution selling to hyperscaler, OTT, AI companies, and data center clientsBusiness development and proactive sales activities in new and existing markets in the regionComplex project and opportunity management including financial models and analysis of sales solutionContract negotiationsEvaluating competitive marketplaceInternal communications to ensure boundary partners are engaged on bids and solutionsManage, up-sell, and renew agreements of assigned accountsTrack, manage, and report ongoing activity relative to planMaintain and report targeted objectivesLifecycle management of assigned accountsPerforms other duties as assigned and may include sales management and support of Cellular Accounts
What You Bring to the Table:
Minimum 8-10 years of recent experience with data services in current telecommunications environmentBachelor’s degreeor equivalent experienceValid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record as determined by the CompanyDemonstrated success in telecommunications in an advanced carrier sales environmentDemonstrated success in media, hyperscaler, OTT, and data center salesStrong network with customers in region’s data centers and with telecom providersAbility tocommunicate withC level executives within an organizationExperience in data communications sales or service, consultative sales techniques, and account planning including account profiling, account positioning strategy, customer needs analysis, sales opportunity development, service improvement planning, and long range client management strategiesTechnical skills relatedtonetwork and transmission design and local access services is a plusProduct knowledge of Dark Fiber, E-Access, E-NNI, IP,Wavelength, Spectrum and next-gen servicesas well as associated end-user and carrier applicationsProduct knowledge of FTTC, Small Cell technology in the cellular space a plusOperational understanding of telecommunications ordering, provisioning, andbillingprocessesWorking knowledge of general marketing principle tools and processesSkills necessary for decision making and maintaining customer retentionStrong communication and business writing skillsProven track record in business development and carrier salesExperience with financial models and analysis related to sales opportunities, i.e. ROI, IRRExemplary organizational and communications skillsMinimum Intermediate skills with Microsoft office including Excel, Word, PowerPointStrong experience and relationships to leverage sales in the carrier spaceExisting carrier relationships to be leveraged for new sales and account onboardingInvolvement in trade and commercial organizations to expand the market awareness of the companyAbility to travel to customer meetings, conferences, other as requested by managementAbility to communicate effectively by telephone, correspondence, and in personAbility to work in a standard office environmentAbility to operate standard office equipment, to include personal computer, telephone, printer, copier, facsimile machine, and calculatorAbility to stay focused and remain composed during peak periods & when dealing with challenging situationsAbility to problem solve and see the big pictureAbility to travel up to 20% of the time, limited to key customer meetings and conferences.

Base Salary: The base salary range for this position is $110K - $125K annually, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
Commissions at plan: Targeted commissions at full attainment are seventy-two thousand annually. Our sales total compensation offers the potential for significant upside above targeted earnings for those who overachieve their sales targets.
