This includes identifying potential electrical hazards and recommending corrective actions to ensure the safe operation of electrical systems. The Resort Journeyman Electrician works directly with the Senior/Master Electrician to prevent and solve electrical issues. This is a full-time year-round benefit eligible position. The pay range for this role is $30-$35/hr based upon experience.ESSENTIAL DUTIESRespond to work orders as they come in through the maintenance systemWork on preventive maintenance tasksTroubleshoot electrical systemsProvide corrective action plans to resolve issuesSupport snowmaking operation by offering preventative maintenance in the pump houses and with any associated snowmaking equipmentRespond to after hour's maintenance calls as neededMake critical decisions in a timely manner that will have as little impact on the guest experience as possibleMake phone calls to management in a timely manner to minimize down timeFollow all safety policies and wear all prescribed PPEEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School DiplomaPreferred Education: Technical Diploma, Associate Degree or two years college course workVermont State electrical apprenticeship certificateMust possess a valid Vermont State Journeymen Electricians license or be able to obtain licensure within one year from date of hireWork Experience: Two to four years job related experience.QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTSKnow and understand the National Electrical Code (NEC)Must be able to work with team members or independentlyMust be a team playerExperience with Microsoft word and excelMust be able to read and intemperate blueprints and schematicsMust have an understanding of electrical symbols and ladder logicExperience with PLC's preferred but not requiredExperience with hydraulic and pneumatic systemsMust be able to communicate clearly and effectivelyTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS Minimal travel requiredPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidaysMountain Environment:The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products.
