General Summary of PositionWe have an opportunity available for an experienced Community / Outpatient Pharmacist to join our MedStar Pharmacy team located on the campus of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. Hours for this full-time position are 10:30 am - 7:15 pm Monday - Friday, with rotating Saturdays from 8 am - 4 pm.Evaluates drugs prescribed by physicians for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interaction, and contraindications; processes prescriptions through insurance company and handles DUR rejects, pre-authorizations, etc.; performs final check on all prescriptions, ensuring accurate input, labeling, and dispensing; and, provides counseling and drug information to patients and physicians. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesActs as the pharmacist in charge in the absence of the manager: directing workflow patterns, ensuring daily responsibilities are carried out by assigned staff, resolving issues requiring management intervention, and performing routine oversight of pharmacy operations.Performs final check on all completed prescriptions, verifying the accuracy of input, labeling, and dispensing; makes corrections as necessary; maintains refill and narcotic logs, and prescription files.Processes prescriptions in the dispensing system; evaluates prescriptions for appropriateness of dose, therapeutic efficacy, allergy, drug interactions, and contraindications; handles DURs, rejects, preauthorizations, etc.; communicates with third party payors to troubleshoot issues relating to coverage, reimbursement, etc.Provides clinical information and guidance to physicians and allied health professionals as appropriate to provide safe, prompt, and accurate dispensing of all prescriptions; calls physicians and follows up on refill requests; notifies physicians of Rx's requiring pre-authorizations and discusses alternatives as appropriate.Provides patient counseling as appropriate on a patient-by-patient basis. General Summary of PositionUnder general supervision, performs stationary engineer work in the hospital power plant, involving a variety of routine and fairly complex problems. To ensure all equipment and systems are properly operating for a maximum safety and comfortable environment. Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesTechnical/Mechanical: Operates, maintains and performs preventative maintenance on technical equipment. Operates boilers, water chillers, pumps, air compressors and generators to provide steam, electrical power, heat and chilled water throughout hospital. a. Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on water /steam distribution systems other boiler associated systems. b. Interprets technical information related to equipment operation and maintenance. c. Maintains constant watch over dials, meters and gauges to assure proper operation and to detect malfunctioning equipment. d. Records data in appropriate logs and operates boiler room EMS systems. e. Runs test on boiler and cooling tower water and adjusts treatment dosage as needed. f. Maintains proper operation of pneumatic tube system. g.
