The individual will collaborate with the execution team to ensure technology investments align with the product strategy and support the implementation of the target architecture.**This role is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite at GDIT's Gaithersburg, MD office and Silver Spring, MD client location.RESPONSIBILITIES:Program/Client Management:Guide project meetings and other client engagements to meet customer expectationsParticipate and lead customer-facing communication, reporting on sprint progress, burn down, velocity, and story pointsPrepare and deliver frequent updates, maintaining positive customer relationships and ensuring a positive customer journeyPrepare status updates with key milestones and deliverables, next steps, risks, and project timelineManage timeline and scope ensuring customer expectations are metCommunicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully and resolve or escalate issues in a timely fashionUnderstand and validates the details of deliverables as provided by project resourcesProduct Management:Develop product roadmap with external stakeholdersManage product development using agile best practicesOversee analysis and documentation of customer’s business requirements and processesOversee planning and design of business processes; assist in formulating recommendations to improve and support business activities.Assist in the research and assessment of business goals, objectives and needs to align information technology solutions with business initiativesParticipate in testing activities such as functional testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).Team/Agile Management:Lead and advise software development team and projectsWork with the implementation team to develop releases plans and ensure product backlogs are well-groomed, prioritized and visible to all the stakeholdersAssist team to become self-organizing and self-managing to achieve its goalsEnsure the team’s “definition of done” is well defined on the story, sprint, and release levelsBe part of a continuous improvement mindset and recommend adjustments to established delivery practicesParticipate in Scrum meetings to represent Product Owner and ensure cross-team collaboration and coordination of release plansCommunicate effectively with large and small project teams consisting of both technical and non-technical project stakeholders to set and manage client expectations and timelines throughout the projectProvide transparency to senior leadership and work with design, development, information security, and other product management teamsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of related experience8+ years of managing large scale software application development projectsExperience managing projects with multiple key stakeholdersExperience managing multi-system projects and self-organized, cross-functional project teams in a matrixed environmentFamiliar with Agile values, principles, processes, and methods such as iterative and incremental development, burn down, continuous integration, test-driven development (TDD), unit testing, code refactoring, pair programming, and/or Scrum ceremoniesModerate knowledge of the JIRA tracking toolAbility to attain a Public Trust clearanceDesired Qualifications:PMP certification and Second level Scrum Master certification (CSP, SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practitioner)Prior or current experience working in a similar role at the Food and Drug AdministrationAppian technology experience#GDITFedHealthJobsThe likely salary range for this position is $121,680 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
