The team supports internal and external design, engineering, construction, and commissioning of electric substation projects initiated by growing load demand and replacement of aging infrastructure. Projects supported by the team include transmission substation modifications and expansions, distribution substation construction and expansions, and replacement of aging or failed equipment.The Principal Engineer/Subject Matter Expert (SME) possesses specialized knowledge and experience in the design, selection, installation, and maintenance of critical substation equipment, such as, Circuit Breakers, Capacitors, Switchgear, Gas Insulated Switchgear, Battery Energy Storage Systems, STATCOM, etc... The candidate will have experience in the design & execution of complete high voltage transmission and distribution substations, with relevant projects on applications that range from 4kV to 500kV.The successful candidate develops and/or leads teams in studies, plans, design criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, cost estimates, budgets, associated with the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric, transmission, distribution, and telecommunication facilities/systems.Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, properties, equipment, or facilities.
