This position is part of a team that provides engineering and Information Technology services to provision, manage, sustain, innovate, modernize, refresh, reengineer, and secure the Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Non-NC2 cryptographic production infrastructure.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Analyzing hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document a practical design for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors.Ensuring problems with operational hardware have been properly identified and solutions satisfy user’s requirements while preparing functional requirements and specification for hardware acquisitionsDeveloping hardware installation schedules based upon set-up, integration, and test timeliness while assisting with preparing installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides.Conduct site surveys, assesses and documents current site network configuration and site-unique requirements, preparing engineering plans and site installation Technical Design Packages, configuring computers, communications devices and peripheral equipmentResponsible for scheduling requested evaluations submitted from vendors, receiving, unpacking, and setting up submitted commercial equipment for evaluation and setting up appropriate tools and sensors to support evaluations.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in communications engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university and 7 years of experience as a Hardware Engineer analyzing complex hardware systems for SIGINT solutions. is required.Five (5) years of additional hardware engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.Experience with VHDL, Vilinx, Vivado or similar tools/technologies is requriedClearance Requirements:Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ PolygraphPhysical Requirements:Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
