Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Sales & Events Specialist role reports directly to the Events Manager and is responsible for the sales and coordination of onsite and virtual events, and managing internal and external relationships. The goal is to provide epic High West experiences to all clients by creating unforgettable events that highlight the best of our brand. High West’s mission “to make delicious whiskey, to share our love of whiskey with our customers, and to celebrate our home, The West” and vision to “be known worldwide as a top tier Whiskey maker with the best visitor experience in the industry” will guide the activities of this role.ResponsibilitiesManage incoming event inquiriesSend venue packets and provide information on availability & pricingSend menus, floorplans, photos, etc.Site walk-throughs with potential clientsBuild relationship with client throughout coordination process.Manage and support clients throughout event coordinationProvide timely responses to questions and provide optionsFood and beverage event menu creationMenu tasting and chef consultFloorplans, timelinesCoordinate all final details with clientCommunication with staffing managers, event ops and kitchen to be sure all data is entered into event management systemDay of event leadClose out event financials.Vendor and equipment coordinationWork with vendors for rental plans and orderingWorks with Event Ops to manage wedding and events equipmentSupport in weekly BEO meetings: Meeting efficiency and improve informing up and cross functionsDrive increased revenue at each location through coordinating booked eventsAssist with coordinating High West promotional eventsMinimum QualificationsMinimum of 1 year experience in event coordinationPassion for hospitality and events with a willingness to do what is needed to produce the best experience for our guestsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsVerbal, written, listening & presentationAbility to take direction and work with existing guidelines and processesAbility to work with a diverse set of team membersAbility to communicate effectively with a diverse set of clientsMust be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, e-mail, restaurant reservation, POS and event management softwareDemonstrate a high level of follow through and ability to meet multiple deadlinesStrong organizational and time management skillsDedication to providing excellent customer serviceWillingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidaysPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in the hospitality industry preferredPortrays High West core valuesExample: Honest, fun, unpretentious, welcomingPhysical Requirements/Work Environment Physical Requirements:The employee frequently is required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Frequent walking, including going up and down stairs and bending are required. Work Environment:Working conditions at an event may require the employee to be outside for extended periods of time and/or occasionally in a kitchen with slippery floors. Our compensation is based on cost of labor.
