Job Duties: Answer incoming calls and schedule advance and same day customer trip requests for the entire service area. Route calls to the appropriate party if the call is not for the Call Center. Maintain MDT/cellular communication with vehicle operators concerning customers, i.e. cancellations, no shows, pick-ups, etc. To the maximum extent possible, ensure vehicle operators stay within the DOT guidelines for hours of service. Professionally handle all calls concerning route timing, delays, etc. keeping in mind contractual obligations to various entities. Serve as liaison between vehicle operators and all necessary parties in the event of a vehicle mechanical breakdown or a vehicle incident of any type. Maintain customer/location records daily, and update as needed, verify pick-up and drop off addresses during each scheduling call. Ensure and maintain ADA compliance Be up to date with all BTD Medicaid contract obligations and requirements. Serve as liaison between vehicle operators and emergency personnel in the event of an accident. Check the appropriate website, keep trips updated, and operators/supervisors informed of any changes. Have a pleasant phone manner with a professional manner and properly and calmly respond to problem callers. Maintain the standards of BTD, including but not limited to the Drug & Alcohol and safety policies and procedures. Become familiar and stay up to date with BTD's program policies and procedures. Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Become familiar and stay up to date with BTD’s service area. Maintain all records of vehicle changes. Be familiar with all ADA compliance in regards to scheduling, fares, and other regulations. Maintain communications with operators/supervisors and fix/update geocoding or directional errors as reported. Make sure that each client is provided with the correct information regarding BTD’s services: fare information, trip booking information and send information request to Call Center Supervisor when client  requests additional information (such as a Rider’s Guide). Check and enter every new client and location address and double check with public maps for accuracy

The position will be required to perform road rescue as needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTroubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.).Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM list and parts accountability.Handle road service calls; perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system.Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines.Maintain inventory and proper recordkeeping.Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.Performs other duties as assigned.RELATIONSHIPSInternal: VP of Operations, Transportation Manager, various other USF personnelExternal: Vendors, Parts and equipment delivery personnelQUALIFICATIONSEducation/Training:High school diploma or equivalent required.Related Experience/Requirements:A valid Class-A CDL license and DOT certification preferred.Must have (5) years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic or a combination of both; or (3) years verifiable hands-on experience with either Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification or both.Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.Successfully demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.Prior experience in administering appropriate PM program.Must furnish own personal hand tools.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet.Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.Excellent communication skills; able to communicate with co-workers and drivers with demonstrated teamwork skills.Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.Computer and software experience.Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.Must be able to work overtime when needed.Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $37 and $42 per hour and as applicable, this role will alsoreceive overtime compensation. Job Duties: Operate transit vehicles safely and smoothly to transport passengers. D&R operators: According to the schedule of the Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) or printed manifest. Assure compliance to all applicable DOT laws and regulations. Assists in emergency evacuations as assigned and performs other related work as required. Assure cleanliness of vehicles. Follow instructions from Dispatch and supervisory personnel and communicate any problems to dispatch. Complete daily vehicle pre/post trip inspections. Conducts operational vehicle inspections Maintain good customer/employee/supervisor relations. Report for duty promptly in proper uniform and physical condition and be ready to work any route assigned. Provide information to passengers in a helpful, courteous, efficient manner; use proper etiquette to assist passengers with disabilities. Prepare and complete all required logs and reports including reports on traffic accidents and customer incidents. Utilize the communication systems (cell phones, radios and MDT’s) in accordance with BTD policies. Use correct safety procedures to operate lift, secure wheelchairs, scooters and other assistive devices. Immediately notify dispatch of cancellations, no shows, or for directions when having difficulty locating a client. Maintain the standards of BTD, including but not limited to the Drug & Alcohol, ADA, EEO, Title VI, Code of Conduct and safety policies and procedures. Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
