Daily Instruments is seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to join our rapidly growing design and production team. The Drafter will be responsible for coordinating onsite work with the sales support team, engineering team, designers, purchasing/requisitions and special project team personnel, as well as working alongside production management staff. The successful Drafter will ensure that projects are completed safely and accurately, and in a timely manner to meet customer and shipping goals.

Job Duties: Manage the project work plan process to ensure accurate and timely completion of production goals Perform Engineering calculations involved with design, drafting or product; and all engineering changes Coordinate with customer specification, needs to ensure all sales and resulting work orders are in compliance with those requirements Strict compliance and enforcement of all ISO, QA, contractual, and client requirements Read and understand technical drawings, schematics Create drawings for customers, Sales Department, Engineering or any other as required. Create, update and correct drawings for submission to customers. Create Vendor Data books for submission to customers. This position is responsible for the day-to-day management duties of the District's rights-of-way.
The Flood Control District has the mission to reduce the risk of flooding in Harris County, the third most populated county in the United States, with a population in excess of 4.7 million, including the City of Houston, the nation’s fourth largest city. The Flood Control District has jurisdiction over the primary stormwater facilities in the county, which consist of approximately 1,500 channels totaling nearly 2,500 miles in length, as well as more than 60 regional stormwater detention basins, totaling more than 10,000 acres and several wetlands mitigation banks including Greens bayou.
Essential Functions and Duties: Handle and investigate requests from the County residents, government entities, and internal requests pertaining to the District's infrastructure. Identify channel maintenance repair solutions, costs, priorities, and schedules. Research the District's archived information, property rights, construction plans, historical data and existing right-of-way information. Handle requests for use and obtain rights-of-entry from private landowners to facilitate proposed channel maintenance activities. Prepare correspondence and reports in response to various internal and external letter requests. Monitor, define and direct channel maintenance activities along various channel systems within assigned territory. Provide updates to management on ROW activities, status, issues and provide recommendations. Communicate with the public and various governmental representatives. Provide budgeting information in support of the District’s annual maintenance budget. Obtain County Attorney’s legal opinion on right-of-way issues, if needed. Develop and maintain programs and plans for the maintenance of the District’s drainage facilities. Monitor flooding events and assist in the documentation of such events. Perform other duties that may be added or changed as the course and scope of the job directs.
