JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Operations Manager serves as a key member of the base leadership team by coordinating and directing the activities of team members involved in safely providing requested services for general aviation aircraft, crews, residents, and guests. At times, this position will perform the same or similar duties as those assigned to their workgroup. The Operations Manager uses expert knowledge of the company’s policies and standard operating procedures to provide efficient and exceptional service to the guests of the private aviation terminal (PAT). An Operations Manager must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, holidays, and weekends. Certain functions will be performed in varying weather and environmental conditions such as precipitation, extreme temperatures, jet engine fumes, dust, and noise. The tasks are performed inside and outside near stationary and moving aircraft (including spinning propellers and engines) and ground service equipment.RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Duties and Responsibilities:(Other duties maybe assigned)Lead a teamconducting base operations safely and efficientlyin accordance with established policiesand standardoperatingprocedures(SOPs) ensuring efficient and accurate communication through various methodsto accomplishoperationaltasks.Manage the performance of the Airside Experience and/orGuest Experience Teamsto ensure technical accuracy, demeanor,and adherence to company policies and procedures. Correct performance deficiencies and administercorrective actionasneeded.Interview,onboard, train, and manage team members ensuring their engagement anddevelopment.Schedule, coordinateand assign dutiesto qualified Airside Experience and/or Guest Experience teammembers. Conductshift and teammember meetings and manage special events.Provide on-the-job training and assistance to Airside Experience and/or Guest Experience team members. Ensure allairline-required training is administered and completedby teammembers.Serve as a resource on guest service mattersandas an escalation point forguest inquiries.Assist with ramp operationsas neededto ensure service needs are met for guests, clients, vendors, and aircraftcrewmembers. Services include aircraft storage, cargo service operations, fueling, de-icing, lavatory, ground powerandpotable waterservices, parking, marshalling, wing walking, delivering catering and towing.Proactivelyprepare forarriving/departing aircraft, identifyand perform open job tasks, and immediatelycorrect observedsafety concerns. Conduct safety observations and document accordingly.Operate and drive all ground service equipment suchas fuel trucks, de-icing trucks, ground powerunits, tugs, stair trucks,and otherfreight handling equipmentas needed.Assist with and/or manage regulatory compliance, audits, and/or reporting forairport orgovernment parties if requested.Manage inventory of base supplies, uniforms,and equipment in compliance with company procurement and expensingprocedures.Maintain security of premisesto include monitoringstreet side, parking lots, terminal, hangars, and AOA.Maintain safe,clean, and secure ramps andoperations.Monitor and maintain fuel inventories including ordering, fuel quality control checks, fuel receipt, and maintaining accuraterelated documentation.Understand, comply with, and enforce all operational, safety, and guest service requirements for all aspects ofthe job.Stop work when an unsafe condition or act is likelyto cause harm to people, the environment, Company orguest assets, orthe Company’sreputation if the work continues.Follow emergency response proceduresduring critical events.Understand, comply with, and enforce all security (physical, cyberand data) protocolsas dictatedbyboth SignatureAviation and the airport.Maintain accurate records pertainingto time workedby team members, activities and services performed. Mayberesponsible forpayroll oversight and compliance.QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Education and/orExperience:High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).One (1)to two (2) years of experience and/or trainingin aviation or cargo operations or an equivalent combination ofeducationandexperience is required.Trained and approved to perform specialty responsibilities (e.g., oil and oxygen service for aircraft)and other requiredcertifications (e.g.,towing, deicing) as required by base specific operations is preferred.Ability to become approved isrequired.Minimum of 18 years of age.Abilityto passcompany background checks(criminal and motor vehicle), drug tests, meet airport background checkrequirements to receive and maintain issuance of an airport security badge,andbe insurable by the Company's applicableinsurance policies.Excellent vision and coordination to move and/or direct aircraft.Abilityto passa color vision test for purposes of visuallyinspecting aviation fuel.Mustbe legally authorized to work inthe jurisdiction of employment.Must possess a valid state driver’s license. Certain Pats require a commercial driver’s license (CDL) asdictatedby localregulationsand business needs.Additional essential knowledge and skills:Leadership Skills:Abilityto assign tasks wisely, provide feedback to improve performance, administercorrective action, andmotivate others.Hospitality Skills:Excellent guest service skills with an energetic, outgoing, and guest-obsessed personality. Experience with conflict resolutionin a hospitality environment is preferred.Language Skills:Abilityto read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating instructions,and proceduremanuals,and for safety-sensitive tasks, in English. Clearlycommunicate in English with others in person, via telephone,radio communicators, and in writing. Abilityto write routine reports and correspondence.Math Skills: Abilityto perform simple math (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions,angles, degrees, time).Physical Ability: Mustbe able to physically enter/exitandoperate motor vehicles and ground support equipment such asfuel trucks, vans, tugs, freight handling equipment, and cars in addition to all physical requirements on the included chart.Critical Thinking / Reasoning Ability:Abilityto solve practicalproblems and handle avariety of variables in situationswhere onlylimited standardization exists.Abilityto interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, orschedule form.Interpersonal Skills:Ability to get along and work well with others.Excellent interpersonal skills foreffective collaborationwith team membersand service to guests.Computer Skills:Abilityto use a computer ,including passcomputer-based training modules. Proficient in Microsoft tools(Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)and ability to learn company software.Task Management:Excellent time/project managementand organizational skills.
