About the RoleThe Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for leading the measurement and analysis of manufacturing processes, developing processes and related tooling, implementing standard operating procedures, and driving continuous improvements in the factory. The Manufacturing Engineer’s scope of responsibility covers the end-to-end production process (material preparation, assembly, testing, and shipment preparation) and support for the larger Manufacturing Engineering Team. Job Duties: Operate transit vehicles safely and smoothly to transport passengers. D&R operators: According to the schedule of the Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) or printed manifest. Assure compliance to all applicable DOT laws and regulations. Assists in emergency evacuations as assigned and performs other related work as required. Assure cleanliness of vehicles. Follow instructions from Dispatch and supervisory personnel and communicate any problems to dispatch. Complete daily vehicle pre/post trip inspections. Conducts operational vehicle inspections Maintain good customer/employee/supervisor relations. Report for duty promptly in proper uniform and physical condition and be ready to work any route assigned. Provide information to passengers in a helpful, courteous, efficient manner; use proper etiquette to assist passengers with disabilities. Prepare and complete all required logs and reports including reports on traffic accidents and customer incidents. Utilize the communication systems (cell phones, radios and MDT’s) in accordance with BTD policies. Use correct safety procedures to operate lift, secure wheelchairs, scooters and other assistive devices. Immediately notify dispatch of cancellations, no shows, or for directions when having difficulty locating a client. Maintain the standards of BTD, including but not limited to the Drug & Alcohol, ADA, EEO, Title VI, Code of Conduct and safety policies and procedures. Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Requirements: Equivalence to a high school education. Pass DOT Drug Screen Maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License. Maintain DOT Physical. Must be able to speak and read English. Legible handwriting. Must be able to read maps and follow directions. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be familiar with State and local traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involved in the operation of vehicles. All employees will be required to work before, during, or after an Emergency. During an Emergency, employees may temporarily be assigned to work and perform duties outside the normal scope of their position, location and work schedule to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.

The Route Supervisor is the liaison between the drivers and management and is responsible for overseeing all the daily operations of Drivers and Vehicles. Must have a B CDL with passenger endorsement as they will be required to drive daily. Facilitates the safe operation of general public transit vehicles following prescribed routes and procedures. This is not an office position.
Job Duties: Must be available to provide general public transportation services to ensure Vehicle Operators are not working overtime and/or double shifts. Ensure buses and employees are available for all routes. Ensure drivers perform pre and post trip inspections. Train and monitor all drivers on all routes. Arrange for the switching out of vehicles in the event of a mechanical breakdown, and/or for fueling purposes. Maintain, log and place fareboxes in buses. Drop and secure fareboxes. Verify all fareboxes are turned in at the end of the day, including fareboxes on vehicles which have been taken out of service for mechanical reasons. Familiarize self with manifests prior to distributing to operators. Immediately notify Dispatch if revisions need to be made. Report for duty promptly in proper uniform and physical condition. Ensure all operators are in proper uniform. Operate vehicles consistent with all laws and regulations. Attend all required training sessions. Conduct route monitoring to ensure routes are being driven according to the printed maps. Maintain confidentiality of information and Professional Customer/Employee/Supervisor relations. Maintain the standards of our company, including but not limited to the Drug & Alcohol, ADA, EEO, Title VI, Code of Conduct and safety policies and procedures. Ability to operate in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Equivalence to a high school education. Basic math and English. Sense of direction and ability to read city and county maps. Mechanical aptitude helpful. CDL training. Maintain a class B CDL with passenger endorsement. Must be familiar with State and local traffic laws, ordinances, and regulations involved in the operation of vehicles. Minimum one years’ experience driving as a public transit driver and one-year supervisory experience or two years’ experience driving as a public transit driver.
