Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. Perform other duties as assigned. May be required to perform duties of the CNA, MA or LPN or other nursing staff on occasion. Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned. Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas. Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary. Accepts all call schedule as directed. Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code. While performing this job, occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees. Compliance to the Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas Standard of Behavior is required. Compliance to Dress Code Standards. Reports to the Director of the Emergency Department.Qualifications: Minimum Education Associate's degree required. BSN is preferred. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire TNCC preferred Licenses Current and active Registered Nurse Licensure for the State of Tennessee.
