With a dedicated team and advanced facilities, it provides safe, supportive, and patient-centered care, setting a regional standard in obstetric services.Overview:As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Labor and Delivery department, you will provide specialized care to expectant mothers and newborns throughout childbirth. Your role is crucial in ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care.Responsibilities:Labor Support: Provide comprehensive nursing care, monitor vital signs, assess fetal well-being, and manage pain relief options.Delivery Assistance: Assist with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, maintaining a safe environment.Postpartum Care: Monitor mothers and newborns, provide breastfeeding support, and address postpartum concerns.Patient Education: Educate families on childbirth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery.Clinical Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.Emergency Response: Respond to obstetric emergencies with critical thinking and adherence to protocols.Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' preferences and ensure their needs are met.Quality Improvement: Participate in enhancing patient care processes and outcomes through quality improvement initiatives.About our Health SystemHighpoint Health Sumner is a 167 bed hospital located in Gallatin, TN and is part of Lifepoint Health, a diversified healthcare delivery network committed to making communities healthier® with acute care, rehabilitation, and behavioral health facilities from coast to coast.
