About the Role: The Regional Safety Manager will manage an on-going safety program by providing for and assisting in the establishment and implementation of plans, policies, and procedures for MYR Group. Our culture is built on shared values and mutual respect, where teamwork and collaboration occur naturally.Throughout our history, we have partnered with utilities, municipalities, commercial clients, and developers to deliver some of the largest and most notable projects including transmission/distribution/substation, commercial and industrial, storm restoration, and renewable (solar and wind farms) energy.Essential FunctionsManage on-going safety programCoordinate and encourage a positive safety culture within operations, procedures, communications, best practices, and personnel managementParticipate in and support Operations with Client meetings, events, pre-bid meetings, pre-qualification needs and incident reviewsEnsure proper safety staffing for construction projects and district locationsCoordinate cross-training and conduct training for Safety Managers and Engineers as necessaryProvide input and assist with development and presentation of training on all aspects of the safety management and accident prevention programsVerify fieldwork compliance with federal, state and local regulations, company policy, and industry best practices; identify and correct unsafe practicesProvide technical and professional assistance to eliminate or control unsafe conditions and behaviorAssist in the completion of accident\incident investigations for area of responsibilityReceive, review, and participate in the development and distribution of accident briefs, safety-related publications, bulletins, reports, directives from industry peers, manufacturers and government agencies and recommend preventive actionsDevelop and maintain liaison with other safety related organizations, manufacturers, government agencies and all operating companiesConduct and report on advance notice and no-notice inspections, surveys, and evaluations as necessaryAudit and provide meaningful feedback, professional development opportunities, as well as leadership and guidance to safety specialists and managersAdvise the Director of Safety,VP, the EMC and district management on methods to improve the MYR accident prevention programProvide progress reports on safety activities, safety reports, and safety studiesMaintain all safety records required per company policy and federal, state, and local regulationsPrepare evaluation and inspection reports with recommended corrective actions and submit them to the Director of Safety and OperationsReceive, process, and ensure all Incident/Accident Reports and concern/hazard reports within their area of responsibility are promptly reported to the VP of Safety to maintain a current, accurate Incident/Accident Report file to include a Master Log and OSHA 300 Logs.Other duties as assignedRegular and predictable attendanceEssential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards About You: QualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience working with electrical transmission, distribution line construction or substation construction in either an Electric Lineman or Safety-specific roleManagement experience within a safety roleExperience with Risk ManagementBachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline; combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieu of degreeSafety-related credentials (i.e. OSHA 500’s, OTI certifications, etc)Professional Certifications highly preferred (i.e. ASP, CSP, CUSP)Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesSolid knowledge of safety principles and practices, as well as safety rules, regulations and proceduresGood knowledge of principles and practices of electric utility operations and constructionWorking knowledge of principles and practices of industrial hygiene; pertinent regulations and laws governing employee safetyWorking knowledge of hazardous materials, and Workers Compensation practices and procedures with emphasis on utility and construction employee applicationsBasic knowledge of principles, procedures and best practices of training and adult instruction;Proven ability to understand, simplify, communicate and implement applicable Federal/State regulatory standards;
