This unit integrates the capabilities of both Med-Surg and observation services, allowing for efficient management of a diverse patient population while ensuring high-quality care in a modern and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities: ·Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment. ·Documents patient care given. ·Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. ·Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. ·Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. ·Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. ·Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. ·Performs patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in other nursing units as necessary. Our highly skilled team of nurses, technicians, and physicians performs a wide array of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including cardiovascular interventions, peripheral procedures and advanced radiology procedures such as port placements, kyphoplasty, tube placements, and ablations. Key Responsibilities: Patient Assessment and Preparation:Conduct thorough assessments of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients both physically and emotionally for the procedure.Procedure Assistance:Assist cardiologists and other medical professionals during various procedures. This includes preparing and managing equipment, monitoring patient status, and ensuring a sterile environment.Monitoring and Documentation:Continuously monitor patients’ vital signs and responses during procedures, promptly recognizing and addressing any complications. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, medications administered, and procedural outcomes.Post-Procedure Care:Provide comprehensive post-procedure care, including monitoring recovery, managing pain and discomfort, and educating patients and families about post-procedure care and follow-up instructions.Emergency Response:Be prepared to respond to emergencies promptly, utilizing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) skills to stabilize patients as needed.
