Description: Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Surgical NRT Job Type: Full-time | 12 hour variable shifts with rotating weekends and holidays Department/Unit Summary Two NRT staffed per day each shift. One will be assigned IVs for the day. In this role you access mediports, insert peripheral IVs, Accucaths, Midlines, and PICCs once trained. Will be trained on the use of an ultrasound machine to guide insertion techniques. You will also be trained to draw labs out of central lines when needed. The other nurse scheduled will be the resource nurse for the shift. The unit provides comprehensive mental health care to individuals between the ages of 18-59. Individuals over the age of 59 are evaluated for admission on an individual basis. Patients admitted to the unit have a primary DSM 5 diagnosis/es. However, patients may also have additional diagnoses, including, but not limited to Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, medical comorbidities, etc. Patients must be medically stable as a criteria for admission. Safety practices include 15-minute safety checks, staff monitoring of all community areas and staff presence during meals and visiting hours.
