Our ideal candidate will be able to design commercial plumbing and fire protection systems, maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors, and lead a team of staff to ensure timely and quality deliverables. Responsibilities: • Maintain responsible control over all design activities pertaining to the project, including engineering, quality control, and code compliance.• Perform site inspections to determine compliance with construction documents and resolve design issues during the construction phase.• Perform hydraulic calculations and work with outside resources to incorporate special hazard systems.• Document production of small and large projects.• Participate in conceptual design for specific projects.• Create and maintain AutoCAD and Revit drawing packages.• Provide deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications related to plumbing.• Comply with project schedules, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.• Ensure work is executed accurately and in a timely and cost-effective manner.• Ensure that design calculations and engineering drawings are constructible, comply with code, and meet customer quality requirements and company standards.• Manage, assign/prioritize workloads, and provide leadership to junior engineers performing plumbing and fire protection system design.• Assess and anticipate deliverables, prepare budgets and schedules, and communicate resource requirements to senior management.• Represent CoolSys Energy Design in project meetings covering technical issues, including meetings with utilities, owners, contractors, construction subcontractors, and inspectors. Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. Other engineering or construction disciplines are considered based on experience and skill set.• 5 or more years of relevant professional experience.• Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD required.• Previous experience managing staff is preferred.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, as well as demonstrated high-quality technical writing skills.• Team player with sound business ethics and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to achieve project goals and deadlines with minimal supervision.• Willingness to work with all levels of internal staff, as well as outside clients and vendors to develop a full understanding of building energy systems and their operation.• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).• This position will require minimal travel to project sites.
