We also see behavioral health patients and serve the hospice population. Our team also prepares patients for surgical procedures and provides post-surgical care required until the time of discharge. The Medical Surgical floor has the ability to care for 25 patients requiring telemetry. The goals of the medical surgical unit staff are to provide efficient, quality, individualized and comprehensive nursing care to all patients. Types of Patients on Unit: Could care for COVID patients. Patient Age Groups: Adults, Geriatrics Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit: CHF Exacerbations, Respiratory illness, arrythmias, general surgery, ortho, End of life care, COPD, Sepsis Special Procedures/Unit Details: Occasional stable open heart surgery patients transferred out of ICU into a med surg floor (typically day 4-5 post op). Will float to floors that take stroke patients (3South) and peritoneal Dialysis (4East).
