Position: Senior Surgical Technician
Schedule: Full-time (1.0 FTE), Day Shift – includes weekdays and weekend (stand by on call component).

A Day in the Life of a Surgical Tech at Providence Medford:

You arrive early, review the day’s surgical schedule, and begin preparing operating roomsensuring all instruments, sutures, and surgical tools are sterilized and perfectly arranged. You're a master of readiness, anticipating every move and need before it happens.
During procedures, you are the surgeon’s right handliterally. You pass instruments, hold retractors, manage sponges, and maintain a sterile environment with laser focus. are cool under pressure, quick on your feet, and ready for anything!

The Surgical Technician role is a non-licensed health care employee who performs the surgical scrub role and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). These duties may include reviewing preference lists and picking the supplies and instruments for a procedure; performing a surgical scrub and preparing the back table with the appropriate sterile instrumentation and supplies; providing support intra-operatively by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing him/her the appropriate instrumentation and supplies when needed during the case; completing the cycle by taking instruments and equipment to the decontamination area at the end of the procedure and putting away left over supplies and equipment.

Required Qualifications:
Coursework/Training Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school.Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical AssistingUpon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association3 years Experience as a Surgical Technician in Operating Room.
