Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of mechanics, bus washers, utility workers and administrative staff members. Maintenance facilities typically operate on a three-shift basis to ensure that maintenance on equipment is completed; testes and inspections of products, services and process to evaluate quality or performance of that equipment is accomplished; and specifications are met to DOT, client or company standards. This position is based in Detroit, MI and supports our Delta Detroit contract.

Hire, train and schedule Maintenance TechniciansApprove priority of maintenance and repairs based on availability of materials and parts and requirementsof scheduled operationsCoordinate and oversee work performed by outside vendorsEnsure company and client equipment is maintained and operating efficientlyManage inventoryImplement safety policies and procedures for the department per corporate requirementsParticipate in the development and administration of the operational budgetIdentify opportunities for improving service delivery methodsOther duties as required.Travel requirement outside of immediate area (as a percent):
Qualifications:
High school diploma, GED or equivalentValid CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred7 years+ experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty automotive and transitequipment3 years+ of supervisory experienceBroad understanding of all mechanical systems related to heavy-duty transportation vehiclesFamiliarity with laws & regulations associated with the safe operation of maintenance facilitiesProficient with Microsoft OfficeExcellent written and oral communication skillsMust be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfacesPush and pull objects up to 10 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground levelWithstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
