And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.As an Amazon Field Engineering (FE) Manager, you will manage a team that provides full life-cycle support to AWS Leased/Owned Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance. Your team will be the ‘go to’ engineering resource for your region when technical advice is needed, and will use your subject matter expertise and engage with diverse teams to expand and support our large and growing portfolio.Key job responsibilities• Hire, coach, and develop employees that demonstrate Amazon Leadership Principles.• Manage team and individual performance, including promotions.• Create and improve metrics, driving efficiencies in repeatable work.• Apply high judgement to make trade-offs on competing business needs.• Establish strategic direction of the Cluster and Regional APJC team, and influence roadmaps of technical or business partner teams.• Identify resource requirements and gaps, establishing a regional team roadmap to success.• Work directly with partner teams to implement new and improve existing processes and procedures, within their region and propagate globally where necessary.• Drive strategic communication, provides a technical strategy with limited guidance within their assigned Region.• Identify risks and complexity to unblock engineers and partner teams.• Drive team timeliness, quality, operational stability and success meeting customer requirements/business objectives. Can identify where to simplify, optimize, and reduce overhead.• Establish and/or streamline metrics, development, engineering, test, and operational excellence best practices. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.-1+ cumulative year of experience managing or leading an engineering team.
