After the initial 72 hours, the family will receive on-going stabilization and care coordination services from the MRSS QMHS and other members of the MRSS team in various community settings. The team works to provide support - including education and consultation for parents and/or caregivers, case coordination, and symptom management and monitoring for up to 42 days. AGENCY SUMMARY Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment. POSITION SUMMARY Our Outpatient Therapists make a difference in the lives of the children and families in need, working with the disadvantaged, at risk and undeserved. As the Outpatient Therapist, you will provide office based clinical services for children ages 3-18 with issues such as disruptive behaviors, ADHD, parent-child relationship problems, anxiety, depression, trauma, school-related issues and bullying. Our therapists also provide services to adults up to age 24 with depression, anxiety, life transition difficulties, etc. and pregnant or new moms experiencing stress/depression. Services include individual therapy, family systems interventions and care coordination. We offer flexible day and evening hours as well as the ability to schedule your own cases, choose how many cases you wish to see and manage your own caseload with the support of an on-site supervisor. As the Outpatient Therapist, you will also receive all required supervision hours toward independent licensure for free.This is a part-time position with a schedule of 15-28 hours/week. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Provide individual therapy, parent guidance and family interventions to assigned clients and families. Gather clinical information in the initial mental health assessment interview and during ongoing treatment contacts. Identify client needs for additional services and refers them appropriately. Collaborate with the client and family and develop focused, measurable and achievable service plans that reflect the individual needs of the client. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation. Work a varied schedule to meet client and agency needs. Maintain clear progress toward treatment goals using Agency required measures. Meet productivity expectations if established by the Clinical Supervisor. Use a cultural assessment to implement a service plan that incorporates the clients' own uniqueness, values, beliefs and attributes. Provide clinical supervision to assigned staff and/or interns in accordance with licensing regulations for professional discipline. Participates in training and learning collaborative to increase skills and develop competence in evidence based models of practice. Provide after hours on-call response as assigned and in accordance with applicable licensure requirement. Accept community based assignments (e.g. schools, court facilities, etc.) and serves as a positive representative of the agency therein. OTHER DUTIES: Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going trainings. All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards. Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client's treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material. Assure that staff maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned by management. QUALIFICATIONS : Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred and a valid LSW or LPC along with a minimum of 2 years prior experience in the delivery of mental health services to children with complex needs is essential; as well as proven experience with Medicaid billing requirements.
