Because of this, our nurses develop a strong set of skills and knowledge that they can use to grow their career throughout the acute care environment. We are piloting a virtual nursing program on this unit, stationing one nurse in a virtual nursing hub during the hours of 0700-1900, while leaving six nurses physically on the unit to provide direct care to patients. The virtual nurse supports the bedside nurse in providing quality care to our patients, and is part of a virtual care model that includes pharmacy and social work.
