You make a positive difference every single day in the lives of our patients, their family members and visitors – going above and beyond to meet their needs with courtesy, kindness, respect and compassion.OUR UNIT:W3 is a 29 bed, 28 day, inpatient addiction treatment unit. We offer treatment for all substance use disorders. Treatment is multi-faceted. It includes teaching patients about the disease of addiction, recognizing triggers for use, how to begin to use alternate methods of coping, and how to navigate early recovery and avoid recurrence. Patients will attend both group and individual therapy, including methods from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (“DBT”) and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (“CBT”). They are introduced to meditation, anger management, and stress management. Teaching is done about medical aspects of addiction, recovery, and healthy living habits. Patients participate in 12 Step meetings while on our unit, and have meetings with an individual counselor at least once per week. We also offer additional individual counseling as needed for grief and loss. We offer medical support and treatment as well, and, although we are not a dedicated “MICA” (Mentally ill, Chemically Abusing) unit, we sometimes accept patients who do have co-occurring mental health issues, depending on their level of need for mental health stabilization.RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical carePerforms initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient).Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team.
