Responsibility includes quality control, instrument preventative maintenance, function checks and calibration. Devices included but not limited to are, platelet incubators, centrifuges, regular incubators, water baths, dri-baths, hematrons, sterile connection devices, plastic disposables, blood warmers, blood analyzers and blood irradiator. Must be able to identify and report issues.• Able to resolve internal/external complaints. Effectively explains and interprets NYULH policies and BB SOPs. Displays effective listening skills and interpersonal communications.• Inventory Management: Maintains adequate inventory of blood and blood components. Demonstrates competency in ordering blood products in BloodHub or from other suppliers. Accurately reconciles shipments, inspects blood and components for acceptance, accessions into HCLL, and performs confirmatory testing and stores in appropriate controlled temp devices.
