This role involves operating X-ray and other imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and producing high-quality images for physician review. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compassionate, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care while adhering to safety protocols and professional standards.RESPONSIBILITIES:Reads charts, prescriptions and radiology requests to ascertain the existence of valid physician orders for diagnostic x-ray procedures. Obtains pertinent clinical information and follows special physician requests noted on prescriptions and radiology requests. Prepares contrast media according to physician's order or departmental policy.Assures proper patient identify prior to performing an x-ray procedure. Questions female patients of child bearing age regarding the possibility of being pregnant prior to performing an x-ray procedure. Reports positive or questionable responses to the radiologist or referring physician for additional guidance prior to proceeding any further. Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures not involving fluoroscopy. Assists physicians during fluoroscopic and invasive radiology procedures. Functions in the operating room to provide diagnostic x-ray coverage. Lifts and moves patients with assistance.
