ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site reading physician.Maintains patient care, comfort and safety during transport to and from the mobile coach/facility and during the exam.Maintains technical competency through continued education and participation in company sponsored training programs.Under guidance and approval of site Radiologist, administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols.Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.Provides images to the facility in the desired site format.Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems; places service calls and notifies all pertinent team members of issues.Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of the mobile coach/facility.Completes necessary administrative tasksFollows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality.Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures.Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety.Maintains current Permits to Practice in all states in which services are performed.Performs additional duties as required. Performs a variety of PET/CT procedures by following and verifying referring provider’s orders to provide images, data analysis and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures.Performs Nuclear Medicine and/or PET/CT with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology. Performs procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas as required by the departmental procedures.Processes data and enhancing digital images using advanced computer technology.Performs Nuclear Medicine and/or PET/CT procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.Performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.Regulates the equipment used to expose the x-ray film, develops and documents PACS imaging.Operates equipment safely and maintains SimonMed standards while performing all types of procedures.Evaluates images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation.Provides diagnostic aid to physicians by conducting organ or body scans on patients. Administers radiopharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic proceduresAdministers and records isotope dosage in accordance to established departmental protocol. Observes patient during procedure and reports any abnormal activity. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
