Is a patient advocate.Other duties as assigned.Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long term care, community based care and home health carePediatric Occupational Therapist the following also apply:Provide direct patient care and/or consultative services for children, teens, and infants in the PICU, PEDs oncology unit and the premature and/or medically complex infants in the Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).Just demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of babies and children served.Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, neurodevelopmental outcomes, supports infant/child mental health and immediate environmental well-being of the infant/child.Promotes infant/caregiver/parent self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.Nurture the infant-family dyad.Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in the infants/child care. Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.
