Role Summary: The Regional Cargo Sales Manager acts as subject matter expert in their specific region for cargo sales at Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Air. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in budgetary revenue and cost goals and provides recommendations to ensure continued sales growth in their region. This role will use a consultative B2B (Business to Business) selling strategy that positions Alaska and Hawaiian as a carrier of choice, builds a deep understanding of customers’ business and proposes long-term solutions that exceed their needs. Key Duties: Act as a subject matter expert for the cargo business in their region within the company.Meet and exceed all sales KPI’s as directed by the Sales & Marketing organization for an assigned territory.With minimal direction from leadership, exercise considerable judgement to identify and acquire new business through a targeted sales approach.Influence cross-functionally by preparing and presenting business development and marketing plans for cargo services within the region that contribute to revenue generation by understanding market and customer needs.Exercise judgement to negotiate agreements, allotments, and rates on the regional level in partnership with revenue management.Make recommendations to ensure sales objectives are being met and customer feedback is addressed.Build and maintain relationships with senior level decision makers at freight forwarders and logistics companies resulting in revenue growth.Incorporate daily use of a CRM platform to document sales activity and relevant customer business details.Partner with cargo operations to provide recommendations regarding procedures of the cargo process to meet customer needs while creating new opportunities for growth.Represents Alaska and Hawaiian at key industry events, conferences, and associations. Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills: Required4 years of sales experience within a supply chain/logistics firm, air cargo sales or marketing.A Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.In-depth knowledge and understanding of the air cargo and global freight forwarding industry.Ability to engage customers at a variety of levels, including executive management.Ability and willingness to travel (25%-50%).Effective, honest, and clear communicator (e.g., verbal, written, and listening).Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Salesforce.High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum age of 18.Must be authorized to work in the U.S.Preferred3 years working in a B2B sales environment.
