Works closely with all affected personnel: OR supervisors, OR Manager, HCL staff and Director of Anesthesia. * Obtains permits for catheterization procedures after teaching patient/family about procedure and related complications.Collects and documents data related to patient’s response to procedure and changes in condition according to hospital policy. Documentation of data is entered in appropriate medical records.Demonstrates age-specific competency in assessment of patients by the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs, knowledge of growth and development, and understanding of the treatment needed.Circulates in procedures following AORN guidelines/standards. Assists at bedside in preparing patient for each procedure.Applies critical thinking during catheterization procedures in the delivery of direct patient care and in analyzing response to medications and treatment, prioritizing intervention based on continual assessment. Utilizes appropriate telephone etiquette.Develops individualized patient/family plan of care using CPG/ND’s, and practice guidelines/protocols to meet identified needs. (Plan of Care includes current and anticipated actions focused on care, education, discharge needs.)
