Operating EngineerWhat this job involves:At JLL, we are seeking a skilled Operating Engineer to join our team where you will be empowered to thrive while advancing your engineering career. In this role, you will lead the maintenance, production, and quality assurance of machinery and equipment with minimal supervision, ensuring optimal uptime operation. You'll be responsible for the operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and equipment. This position may include assisting the Chief Engineer in providing team direction and leadership. This is an on-site position, with local market requirements that may vary slightly.What your day-to-day will look like:Complete diverse maintenance tasks including painting, pressure washing, lighting system maintenance, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work, and general facility maintenanceEnsure optimal operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, and infrastructure supporting production equipmentAssist in supervising and implementing the comprehensive preventative maintenance programMaintain accurate records in the work order system (CMMS) and promptly address service requestsTroubleshoot various systems including electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controlsSupport on-call rotations and respond to emergency situations as neededProvide training and supervision to help expand the capabilities of the Engineering teamMaintain a safe working environment by strictly adhering to safety procedures, rules, and regulationsRequired Qualifications:3-5 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry in an industrial settingLeadership or supervisory experienceAbility to read and follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specificationsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)Physical capabilities including lifting up to 50 lbs, using ladders up to 30 feet tall, and frequently climbing, bending, kneeling, and drivingStrong customer service skills and communication abilitiesCommitment to safety protocols and proceduresPreferred Qualifications:Trade school education, union training, military service, or college educationUniversal CFC EPA certification (or willingness to obtain within first year with JLL assistance)Experience with building automation systemsKnowledge of energy conservation practicesExperience with preventative maintenance programsProblem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyCollaborative mindset that embraces our culture of teamwork locally and across the globeWhat sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration and our commitment to supporting each other's wellbeing while championing inclusivity and belonging across teams.
