SUMMARYThe Operating Engineer will have a strong focus on operating, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems. Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations) and be multi-skilled in others in order to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSMaintenance: Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned Maintains responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance and technical proficiency. Maintenance of the equipment will include cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and changing parts to maintain the HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels Training: Provides training and supervision aimed at expanding the capabilities of the operations staff. Specific duties include, but not limited to: Demonstrating the proper use and care of tools and instruments, giving hands on instruction in basic maintenance, safety, and troubleshooting procedures, recommending relevant outside engineering courses for enrollment and instilling an overall level of professionalism in manner and appearance. LOE insures the availability of an adequate operating inventory of tools and supplies.Specific duties include, but not limited to: Preparing and submitting purchase order requests, developing sources for stock materials and performing periodic checks for supplies.Safety: Checks malfunctioning equipment and ascertains corrective action required to restore to satisfactory operating condition. Supervises and implements the preventative maintenance program.Specific duties include but are not limited to: scheduling of preventative maintenance with a minimum disruption of building services, performing and/or delegating preventative maintenance tasks to the appropriately qualified maintenance staff member, orders parts and equipment required for repair, maintenance and installation of new equipment and facilities, and maintains inventory. LOE Insures Compliance with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of a high school diploma. Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration and HVAC.5 years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance with at least 5 years in supervision.Experience as a journeyman level engineer with strong skills related to building automation systems, life safety systems and Microsoft Office applications, preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Exposure to HVAC, fluid handling/pumping, fluid filtering, mechanical systems, welding, and electrical systems engineering and operationMust be proficient in basic computer application software such as MS Office, Lotus and E-Mail etc.

Performs all activities in accordance with approved policies and guides. Supervises and delegates appropriate duties to ancillary personnel.Essential Functions:Completes initial and ongoing assessments. Assessments include physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care abilities, educational, age appropriate, cultural and discharge planning needs.Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.Discusses assessment parameters and scoring for CIWA. Defines treatment guidelines based on assessment findings/scores for CIWA.Documents patient care given.Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.Employee supervises others.Assists with orientation and training of others as directed.Qualifications:Minimum EducationAssociate's degree in nursing requiredBachelor's degree in nursing preferredRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
