Responsibilities may include supervision of Physical Therapists, Physical Therapist Assistants, technical aides, volunteers, and interns while actively participating in outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships with all. The role encompasses evaluating and treating individuals whose ability to perform daily functional tasks is threatened or impaired by various factors, employing therapeutic goal-directed activities, physical modalities, exercises, and patient/family education/training to facilitate adaptation, productivity, and restore or maximize functional skills and independence. This includes direct involvement with a range of patient care activities, including assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and documentation, in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to facilitate functional progress and discharge planning. The Physical Therapist also contributes to departmental operations, performance improvement activities, budget formulation, and compliance with infection control, safety, and fire safety programs. This role demands personal accountability to the organizational mission and core values, with a commitment to providing care that is reflective of the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of the patient.
