Job Functions, Duties, Responsibilities and Position Qualifications:The Quality Assurance Specialist supports all functions of the Quality Assurance Department as directed by quality management. Promotes quality client/patient relations and creates a supportive climate by serving as a role model to the rest of the MidSouth division.This opportunity is:Location: Memphis, TNDays: Varies Monday - FridayFull Time: Benefit EligibleIn this role, you will:Ensures compliance of all accrediting agency policies and laboratory procedures.Be knowledgeable of the laws and regulations relating to laboratory requirements (CAP, CLIA, HIPPA, Department of Tennessee, OSHA)Manages the laboratory Proficiency Testing (PT) program including but not limited to: tracks PT and linearity ordering, monitoring results, assisting with the initiation of corrective action and monitoring completion if applicable.Assist with the everyday readiness for all laboratory accreditation, including but not limited to: assist with the coordination of activities associated with inspections, management of proficiency and linearity testing, and maintain a library of applicable documentation.Improve processes in the laboratory, by performing regular internal and off-site regional audits, recommend changes, and initiate corrective or preventative actions when appropriate.Initiates, coordinates and evaluates data collection using statistical methods.Gather and compile data for quality management meetings, including but not limited to monthly service indicators.Actively contributes and participates in Quality Management programs for the main laboratory and regional laboratories.Assist in the identification of relevant quality related training needs and assist laboratory management with creating training plans/programs to personnel.Maintain equipment inventory, including but not limited to pipettes, microscopes, analytical instruments, and miscellaneous equipment.Schedule and monitor preventive maintenance for equipment including but not limited to pipettes, hoods, microscopes, and equipment. Maintain all associated documentation.Performs document control functions for all laboratory procedures as needed.Assists with the management of MediaLab’s module (Document control, IQE, Compass, & Inspection Proof) for each division.
