POSITION TITLE: Lead Technician, Fleet CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

ADB is seeking a Lead Technician, Fleet to perform advanced level maintenance and repairs on various sized vehicles and construction equipment. The Lead Technician has the technical knowledge and experience to perform complex diagnostic and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment, while also possessing soft skills to drive standards and leadership of others within the fleet team. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality centric, have complete buy-in to safety, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude to achieve results.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs advanced level technician functions including electrical, general diagnostic, HVAC, preventative maintenance and repairs, on various fleet vehicles and construction equipmentAdvanced knowledge of gas and diesel operations to perform all repair typesPerforms preventative maintenance and repairs, including hydraulic systems, on business-critical construction equipment (Vac, Drills, Excavators, etc.)Utilizing required certifications, has the ability to perform DOT inspections on various vehiclesCan independently diagnose and repair all air brake systems on all vehicle and equipment typesCan diagnose and resolve complex drivability issues using various diagnostic software including (Autel, Texa, Insight)Performs advanced level fabrications using MIG and ARC welding and oxy/acetylene torchAbility to perform complex check engine and ABS light testing and diagnose various drivability issuesFollows all OSHA and ADB standards of shop cleanliness, organization, and safetyCan independently read and understand work orders and create work assignments for technicians onsiteSafety is the expectation; complete buy-in to the safety culture and expectations by leading by example, participating in all company safety initiatives, teaching others, and partnering with the safety team to present and lead safety topicsStrong communication skills with professionalism to support customers, vendors, and internal leaders with any complaints and/or issues that may ariseEffective trainer of other technicians; leads by example and ensures all company safety, performance, and conduct behaviors are followedManages the time, materials, documentation, tools, and equipment in support of fleet management directionPerforms other position duties when requested

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates out of a Warehouse/Fleet Shop environment that could include constant exposure to dust and/or outside elementsMay be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levelsMust wear common protective safety equipment, such as safety glasses, gloves, fleet uniforms, hearing protection, hard hats and high visible vest
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
5+ years of fleet technician and/or heavy equipment repairs experience requiredCertification of graduation from an accredited school focused on Fleet Mechanics preferred609 Certification and DOT Inspector Qualification requiredState Inspector License Required (in applicable states)ASE T1-T8 Certificates a plusClass A CDL License requiredHigh School diploma or equivalent required
The starting pay for this position is 32 per hour and may vary based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
