The unit includes a 16 bed fully monitored unit. We provide high acuity care to critically ill post-operative traumas, stroke patients, and medical overflow. Common therapies seen on 6D are lumbar drain management, external ventricular drain management, antidysrhythmic/calcium channel blocking drips, low dose vasopressors, Bipap and high flow oxygen systems, insulin drips, and precedex. 6D works closely with Cardiovascular PCU and there are opportunities to cross train between departments. We are part of the Critical Care Cluster, which includes all ICUs and PCUs. 6D offers you the chance to deliver compassionate care in a setting that is busy, team oriented, and fulfilling. Learning opportunities are endless and team members are dedicated to mentoring. Career path programs are available to transition into ICU units with an 18-month track. Qualifications:Education:Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; Consideration will be given for comparable education experience and successful licensure.Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining a current LPN license within the hiring state in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all State Board of Nursing requirementsExperience: Can be new or experienced LPNCertifications:LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire (range from upon hire to within 1 year) Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hirePhysical requirements/demands:Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basisPosition requires prolonged standing and walking each shiftPosition requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
