About the unitThe Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14 bed Intensive care in the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth hospital.The Neuro ICU is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center, and it is West Michigan’s largest stroke center. We specialize in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions. These conditions include Hemorrhagic stroke, Ischemic stroke, seizures, and Hydrocephalus with critical care needs. Our nurses are part of a collaborative team and work alongside our nurse techs, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and secretaries to provide specialized care to everyone. About the unitThe ACE unit/1D (Acute Care of the Elderly) is a 21 bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospital. Our focus is on medical patients who are over the age of 65. Nurses are often drawn to 1D because of their passion for our geriatric population while becoming competent in a wide variety of diagnosis. Since we are a Med/Surg unit, we care for patients with a vast array of diagnosis including Congestive Heart Failure, COPD, Septic Shock, Acute Kidney Injuries, Delirium and many more. About this unit3H is a 22 Neuroscience/Spine unit at Blodgett Hospital that specializes in the care of patients admitted with neurological conditions, stroke, and spinal surgeries such as fusions and laminectomies. About the unitThe Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14 bed Intensive care in the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth hospital.The Neuro ICU is part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at the Medical Center, and it is West Michigan’s largest stroke center. We specialize in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions. These conditions include Hemorrhagic stroke, Ischemic stroke, seizures, and Hydrocephalus with critical care needs. 7MHC is a 46 bed unit that cares for cardio-thoracic patients after surgery. We specialize in both cardiac, pulmonary and transplant care.Our primary patient populations are post-operative coronary artery bypass (CABG), cardiac valve surgeries, lung surgeries, heart and lung transplant, and VAD patients (an artificial heart pump).We admit post-surgical patients day of surgery, after the cardiovascular recovery unit or from the Cardiothoracic ICU (CTCC) depending on their procedure and clinical needs. If a patient needs intensive care, they are transferred to CTCC and return back to us when their condition has stabilized. Our patients are very complex and require medical, physical and emotional support.Strong clinical skills in cardiac, pulmonary and post-surgical assessment are necessary. Examples are rhythm assessment, identification of abnormalities with cardiac and pulmonary auscultation and surgical site management. We are excited to be offering a Weekend Only Program for RNs!Eligibility:RNs in inpatient nursing settings with 24/7 scheduling are included.0.9 FTE would work two 12-hour shifts on the weekend and one additional shift during the week.Compensation:RNs will receive an additional $10 per hour plus their base pay.If the RN is a full-time (3)12s a week RN, the stipend will apply to the two shifts on the weekend and not on the third weekday shift. This $10 per hour will be combined with shift differentials as well as other special codes.Scheduling:RNs will be required to work 48 out of 52 weekends per calendar year. Weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday night for night shift. About the unit Our 20 bed High Risk Postpartum / Women’s Health unit is located on 7 Center at Butterworth hospital. We provide couplet care, where we care for both mom and baby together. Two thirds of our patient population is typically related to diabetes management, complications due to high blood pressure, Covid 19, and more. We care for newborns that have issues with feeding, blood sugar management, and high bilirubin levels. About this unit3H is a 22 Neuroscience/Spine unit at Blodgett Hospital that specializes in the care of patients admitted with neurological conditions, stroke, and spinal surgeries such as fusions and laminectomies. As a team member on 2 South, you will see a wide variety of patients.
