Role Summary: The Test Lab Test Technician is responsible for supporting all aspects of test lab work including tester design and construction, test operation, instrumentation and measurement, procurement of test materials, test lab projects, and maintenance of laboratory files and records. Individuals interested in this position should show interest in continued learning, innovation, enjoy being challenged, have a strong work ethic, and able to collaborate with various customers. The individual will be trained and guided as needed but is expected to be self-motivated to meet deadlines. This is a first shift position, Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM Responsibilities: Design, construct, maintain, operate, and troubleshoot test lab systemsSupport lab equipment such as air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, bearing frames, gearboxes, etc.Troubleshoot mechanical faults, investigate test stand failures and implement corrective actions.Maintain lab files including calibration records, test records, and component inventory.Maintain and use high precision measurement systems for pre-test and post-test measurements using specific equipment.Support customers as necessary to meet their objectives and to achieve on time delivery goals.Responsible to stay within scope, schedule and budget for all projects.Ability to independently identify and resolve project issues.Adhere to safe work habits, rules and practices, including the correct use of safety devices and equipmentExhibit behavior that contributes toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision making, problem solving, and continuous improvement.Ability to work well in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.Set up, operate, and report on tests for research related to mechanical seals and related technologiesCollaborate with engineers regarding test plans, product design, and process improvementsSpecify and purchase fittings, fixtures, and other materials to support test programsMaintain a clean and orderly workplace Requirements: High School diploma or G. E. D.Basic math and writing skills3-5 years of fluid power system and or testing experienceWorking knowledge of rotating equipment such as motors, bearings and power transmission (belts, gears, pulleys, etc.)Proficient in the use of measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and CMMsStrong mechanical aptitudeExperienced in test documentation using Microsoft office products (such as Excel, Word, Outlook)Must have communication skills and a professional approach that contribute to team analysis, problem-solving, and collaborationMust be organized with a demonstrated track record of prioritizing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines for both short-term and long-term projectsMust wear required PPE and adhere to all safety requirementsMust be able to occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
