Scope of workThe hospital based Wound Clinician serves as a clinical resource and consultant for the acute care of patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and integumentary systems. The care extends to those with acute and chronic wounds (for example, complex draining wounds, fistulae, pressure injury, vascular ulcers), ostomies, percutaneous tubes, and continence disorders. About the unitThe Short Stay Unit/Observation Unit is a 50 bed unit (private rooms), specialized in caring for the adult population with a variety of diagnoses. A multi-disciplinary team approach in care, treatment and disposition within 23 hours. Patients can come to our unit from all areas: Emergency Center, Operating Room, procedural areas, directly from home or from their primary care physician’s office. The unit has 20 telemetry beds for patients who require cardiac monitoring. Our specialty is “All Non-Critical Specialties”, due to the wide range of diagnosis. About the unitThis unit is a 16-bed cardiovascular/cardiothoracic care unit. This unit’s primary specialty is post-open heart/CABG patients. Post-op CABG patients will recover in the ICU for 2-3 days. The patient population will include cardiac procedure requiring ICU level care, open-heart patients direct from the OR, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, TAVR procedure, and STEMI intervention. RNs will care for patients requiring ventilator support, SWAN-GANZ catheters, vasopressors, inotrope drips, high alert drips, intra-aortic balloon pumps, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), IMPELLA devices, and chest tubes. About the unitThis is a 35 bed Emergency Center and Level II Trauma Center. Our Emergency Center services a diverse patient population from both Oakland and Wayne County. About the unitWelcome to 3 North Progressive Care. We are a 29 bed unit caring for a variety of adult patients. We primarily treat respiratory patients, but also manage cardiac, post-surgical, and patients with multiple comorbidities. All patients are monitored on remote telemetry. About the unitCPCU, 8NE, is a 68-bed unit cardiac step-down unit that provides an intermediate level of care to patients that typically have a cardiac related diagnosis such as coronary artery disease (CAD), congestive heart failure (CHF), myocardial infarction (MI) and heart arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (A-fib) and ventricular tachycardia (V-Tach). We also provide pre and post procedure care to patients that have undergone cardiac procedures, such as catheterization/angioplasty, stents, ablations, and placement of pacemakers, and defibrillators. Our nurses receive specialized training in arterial sheath removal and Tikosyn administration and are ACLS certified. About the unit2 East is a Surgical Critical Care Unit, specializing in cardiovascular surgical interventions. We also provide care to patients requiring general surgical interventions. About the unit4CN is a twelve-bed unit that provides care for a diverse patient population including, but not limited to, respiratory, cardiac, and neuro illnesses. 4CN has the capacity to care for patients with ventilators.
