About the unit4 West is a 32 bed medical surgical unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit is the perfect place to gain experience as a new nurse and grow your career! The patient population on 4 West provides its employees the opportunity to learn about a variety of different conditions consisting of primarily hospitalist medicine patients with a wide variety of diagnosis, some of which include: pneumonia, sepsis, cellulitis, kidney failure, and hyperglycemia. In Butterworth hospital it is common to see high acuity patients which provides the opportunity to develop acute care skills such as patient assessments, IV/urinary catheter/NG tube placement, rapid decline in patient condition, Endotool, etc. 4 West is a well-established team that works collaboratively and functions exceptionally well. This collaboration is not only experienced between RNs or technicians but also the interdisciplinary team on the unit which includes hospitalists, care managers, social workers, pharmacy, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. About this unitThe Rehab Unit has 42 beds and is located at Blodgett Hospital. Team members enjoy working on the unit as you can become an expert in so many areas since we care for a wide variety of diagnoses. Some of the patients we care for are stroke, lung and heart transplant, bone marrow transplant patients as well as ortho trauma, limb loss, brain injury and more. We often get to form great relationships with our patients and see them progress in a positive way. We have a very team-oriented floor and environment, which includes strong relationships as an interdisciplinary team. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. It has a long term care unit and a rehab unit. Each floor has designated units that focus on patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries and cancer. Offers integrated services with a common mission: to provide goal orientated, compassionate care while living a healthy and active life to the greatest level possible.About Rehab and Nursing Center-Kentridge We are located on a 10-acre campus. Our indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to provide opportunities for improving independence, strength, and confidence. Two main floor courtyards provide outdoor space for rest and renewal. Most patient rooms are private, and have an attached bathroom and shower, television with cable, phone, and a large window. About this UnitAcute Inpatient Rehab is a CARF accredited 18 bed unit. The unit specializes in patients that are diagnosed with CVA, SCI, TBI, amputations, ortho, cardiac, and debility. The average length of stay is 12-14 days. These patients have a medical and physical need, and must be able to participate in 3 hours of therapy daily.About Corewell Health South – Lakeland HospitalsThe health system comprises three hospitals, an outpatient surgery center, a regional cancer center, rehabilitation centers, two long-term care residences, home care and hospice services, and 34 affiliate physician practice locations. We provide both inpatient and outpatient medical services throughout Southwest Michigan.Scope of WorkThe RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge.
