About the unit2 East is a Surgical Critical Care Unit, specializing in cardiovascular surgical interventions. We also provide care to patients requiring general surgical interventions. Our nurses possess skills that allow them to demonstrate immense critical thinking and physical assessment skills which sets them apart as they continually manage acutely ill patients. The unit staff is comprised of RNs (registered nurses), NTs (nurse technicians) and CAs (clinical assistants). It is led by a Clinical Nurse Manager, an Associate Clinical Manager on the off-shift, and a Nurse in Professional Development Specialist. About this unitRoyal Oak's Hemodialysis Unit is a 10 bay and 2 room procedural area staffed with RN's who are solely responsible for dialysis treatments, a Unit Secretary, and a Dialysis Assistant responsible for machine cleaning and maintenance and nursing assistant duties. Our team members care for hospitalized patients in new onset/acute renal failure as well as inpatients with chronic end stage renal disease. Treatments are completed within the dialysis unit as well as within EC, critical care units, and select medical patients at bedside. About the unitThe 20 bed MICU treats severely ill patients using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care. About the unit4CN is a twelve-bed unit that provides care for a diverse patient population including, but not limited to, respiratory, cardiac, and neuro illnesses. 4CN has the capacity to care for patients with ventilators. Nurses on this unit are teamwork oriented and have excellent support staff which include nursing assistants, nurse technicians and clinical assistants. 4CN receives patients directly from the MICU. 4CN team includes 24 hr NP coverage for mentoring and clinical support.4CN is a sister unit to 3CN/5CN Intermediate Surgical Unit offers a dynamic patient care experience. 3 CN is a ten-bed unit thatspecializes in general surgery, vascular, and thoracic patients. We are the only progressive care unit in the hospital that can monitor arterial lines. 5 CN is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgery unit. About the unitCPCU, 8NE, is a 68-bed unit cardiac step-down unit that provides an intermediate level of care to patients that typically have a cardiac related diagnosis such as coronary artery disease (CAD), congestive heart failure (CHF), myocardial infarction (MI) and heart arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (A-fib) and ventricular tachycardia (V-Tach). We also provide pre and post procedure care to patients that have undergone cardiac procedures, such as catheterization/angioplasty, stents, ablations, and placement of pacemakers, and defibrillators. Our nurses receive specialized training in arterial sheath removal and Tikosyn administration and are ACLS certified. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending ontheshift andthepopulation you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and sub-acute rehab residents. With 179 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer. Some specific diagnoses’ are total knee, total hip, spinal fusions, and fractured hips.
