3Dis a 22 bed Med/Surg unit at Blodgett Hospitalthat specializes in the care of patients admitted with complex medical diagnoses as well as general surgery patients. Nurses are often drawn to 3D for the variety of patients and skills utilized. Our nurses become competent in caring for a large array of both medical patients and the occasional surgical patients. Specifically, our team isknown as being experts innasogastric tubes,urinary catheters,managing tube feeding,and managingthe care of wounds. Some of the patient types we routinely see are respiratory illnesses, acute kidney injuries, diabetic care, septic shock, GI bleed and other acute GI illnesses, sickle cell crisis, pancreatitis and psychiatric care. The teamwork is strong on our team as we work collectively to provide care.Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA.
