Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 24 months of Critical Care Float Pool experience is required from any number of months.
• 3 months of experience with Cerner is preferred from any number of months.
• Trauma Level 2 experience is required from any number of months
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maine license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.Pre-employment modules may be required for this role. Please upload any certifications or health documents you have to your profile to expedite your on-boarding process.

Housing in ME becomes more expensive in the summer months, beginning in May. Be sure to confirm you are comfortable with housing options before applying.
Roles requiring state licensure only: License should not expire within 45 days following start date
Travel Pairs: If you are in a relationship, EMMC will not schedule you on the same days. If you are not in a relationship, you can be scheduled for the same days if not on the same shift/unit. Managers will not guarantee the same schedule for travel pairs.
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
Multispecialty Critical Care patients: Medical/Surgical/Cardiac/Neuro/Ortho/Trauma/Interventional.
Patient Ratios:
1:2, based on acuity. May get 3rd patient as one is being downgraded.
Common diagnoses included but are not limited to: Stroke, ICP monitoring, EVD Drains, spinal precautions, DKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma, COVID, STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failure.
ICU Float Pool RNs could float to ER Hold/Obs and care for MedSurg level patients there and Stepdown units – this can happen as often as is needed.
Skills required:
No more than 6 days of RTO (no holidays) is accepted at this time.
Neuro and Trauma experience is an absolute must – please decline travelers without this; Ventilator management, critical care drips/titration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, measuring cardiac strips, drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines: art lines/CVP, Stroke experience.
This is a float pool position that floats between all levels of care, appropriate to care type – this does include floating into the ED to take ED holds (patients with admission orders) AND/OR ED Observation patients (holding orders but not fully admitted); will include patients within your scope of practice and below; as well as PACU Holds (patients with inpatient orders awaiting a bed).
Holiday Expectations: No RTO accepted for Holidays.
Approval of RTO: to go through manager.
